Life throws up many obstacles and questions on a daily basis, the chances are (like billions of others) you have turned to the Google Search for an answer on more than one occasion.

Google’s News Lab have recently created a new website:  So all of us can now take some comfort in the fact we’re not alone in our silly and somewhat damn right ridiculous Google searches…How does one make slime???

Google Search SpecialistsAs you can see the website is called gathers data from the 100 most popular “How to” searches worldwide on Google’s search engine.

You may filter by location to gain a better understanding of trending searches.
Simply type in a location, such as ‘in the United Kingdom’, into the search bar and an interactive picture of  a home will appear. The bigger an item is shown in the picture, the more it’s been searched for.  It seems like it takes a lot of people in the UK are searching for ‘How to change a lightbulb’.

Google Search Specialists

The site goes on to share other popular searches about everything from how to boil an egg or how to draw a dog to the question we all need to know the answer to: “how to train your dragon?”

The creator of this webpage in collaboration with Google, Xaquín G.V. admitted to being a “How to” search offender:

“We looked at what things we need the most help with around the house, from the simplest how-to-fit-a-bulb kind of fixes, to those fixes for which we know we need a professional, but our ego makes us take upon ourselves to at least try…”

When you click on any of the subjects the then take you directly to Google’s official search results, so you can start learning how to complete these most common question all by yourself.

As Google search specialists and as an everyday user of Google we found this so amusing we simply had to share.  We hope you have learnt something from reading this article and that at the very least it has brought a smile to your face knowing that we are not alone in our strange Google searches!
